Adam and Zoé, 15-year-old twins, find themselves alone. Their mother, Hélène, has left to search for her husband, a physicist who is generally not very talkative, especially about his work. Can their aunt and grandfather help them while Hélène travels the world? In any case, they all meet charming hosts who introduce them to the secrets of atoms and neurons, energy and computer science. But who are these unsettling characters who seem to know far too much? Are they human or machine? Will Hélène find her Étienne? Could the goal of this odyssey be nothing less than saving humanity from the dangers it brings upon itself? Perhaps, but how? Perhaps through quantum physics.
